Alex Andersen's 5.3.4 Home Theater
Some people chase sound. Alex Andersen engineers it.
From Skien, Norway — now based in Oslo — Alex has spent his career in IT, but his heart has always belonged to audio. His home theater is a meticulously built 5.3.4 Bowers & Wilkins system, tuned with the precision you'd expect from someone who works with technology for a living.
The front stage is pure 700 Series: a pair of 705 S3 bookshelves flanking the HTM71 S3 center, delivering the clarity the S3 generation is known for. B&W M-1 satellites handle surround and Atmos duties, wrapping the room in sound from every angle.
Bass is where Alex gets serious — three DB3D subwoofers: two up front running as stereo subs, plus a third behind the listening position dedicated to the LFE channel. Low-frequency impact you feel in your chest, equally at home with a film explosion and a kick drum.
Processing comes from the Lyngdorf MP-40 with RoomPerfect room calibration, while Arcam's PA240 and PA720 power amplifiers drive everything with effortless control. Sources include Apple TV and the Zappiti Reference, with a PS5 for gaming — all on a 77-inch LG C1 OLED, in a room treated with Vicoustic and Eliacoustic panels.
Alex documents the journey on Instagram at [@kaelmedia](https://www.instagram.com/kaelmedia "nofollow") — setup photos, behind-the-scenes tweaks, and honest talk about audio tech. Worth a follow.
