Simone Marcato's 7.1.2 Home Theater
In a quiet corner of Spinea, Veneto, Simone Marcato — partner and CTO at Hevelop — has built something special: a home audio and theater setup that serves both serious music listening and movie nights, assembled piece by piece with a sharp eye for value.
The 7.1.2 speaker layout
The system is anchored by Klipsch Reference Premiere speakers throughout. The RP-8000F towers handle left and right main duties, with the RP-504c II center channel locking dialogue to the screen. RP-600M bookshelves cover side surrounds while RP-502S surrounds fill the rear, and a pair of RP-500SA modules deliver the front height effects for Dolby Atmos. Down low, the SPL-120 subwoofer handles the heavy lifting.
Electronics: three amps, each with a job
A Carver TFM-45 drives the main left/right channels, a Rotel RMB-1095 (five channels) powers the center and all four surrounds, and an Anthem MRX-740 handles the Atmos height channels.
Sources, digital and analog
For streaming, a Raspberry Pi 4 with a HiFiBerry Digi HAT serves as a Roon endpoint. Vinyl gets its due through a Pro-Ject Phono Box MM and Pro-Ject Debut One turntable.
The full entertainment package
A PlayStation 5, Sony UBP-X800 Blu-ray player, Casiris OmniStar projector and 120-inch screen complete the cinema side.
Simone's careful curation earned his setup a spot in the top 5 of the "TopBuckets Best Budget Sound Setup" list — proof that a thoughtful system beats a blank-check one.
